John Bowlby was an English psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who specialized in developmental psychology, family psychology, psychoanalysis, and psychotherapy.
He is best known for his theory of attachment.
Early Life and Education
Bowlby was born into a wealthy family in London in 1907. He attended The Perse School, a boarding school for gifted children, and went on to study at Cambridge University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1928, a master's degree in 1932, and a medical degree in 1939.
